Sports Coach Position

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Jumping Jim's team as an early learning sports coach on a part time basis.

This positions workload will be adjusted according to the successful candidates capabilities.

The successful applicant will be given extensive training with our sports director before taking to lead and conducting your own classes.

Who are we?

We are a small team of individuals who have a passion for keeping kids active through basic sports skills in a social environment at the Gold Coast and South Brisbane Early Learning Centres, Family Day Care Centres as well as open to the public classes.

Expectations of a Jumping Jims Sports Coach

• Have a passion for working with children

• A willingness to liaise with parents and directors of centres as well as the JJ team, delivering high-quality customer service

• Be a team player who’s happy to rotate duties and form positive relationships

• Be flexible, and willing to adapt

• Possess leadership skills and a vibrant and confident personality

• Be able to work independently

• Open to learning new skills

• Present yourself in a neat and tidy, professional appearance and represent JJ in a respectful manner

• Attend staff meetings and work well with other staff members

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead small classes of children

• Plan and deliver the JJ 10-week sports program

• Coach high-energy, fun, and inclusive sessions to ensure every child is engaged and makes progress, regardless of their ability

• Maintain professional relationships with children, parents, and directors of centres

• Communicate positively and provide feedback on a child’s progress, when required

Experience (preferred but not essential)

Ideally you will have experience working with children for at least 2 years, have an interest in teaching the skills of basic sports and a can-do and will-do attitude.

You will have good interpersonal skills and be ready and willing to learn.
